Prep time: Under 30 minutes
Here’s a recipe for soft and chewy Soymilk Tofu curd donuts.
Light and delicious, you will want to make these again and again.
You can enjoy your donuts fresh with powdered sugar or chocolate,
Or freeze them. They should keep for about a month in the freezer.
Just pop them in the microwave and heat them as you need.
Ingredients Makes 8 donuts
8oz (240g) of Soybean curd (Okara)
2/3 cup (150ml) Soymilk
1 ¼ c. flour (150g)
6 tbsp sugar (80g)
2 big tsp. baking powder (8g)
Oil for frying
Optional Topping
Powdered Sugar or Melted Chocolate
- Combine the Soybean curd, flour, sugar, salt and baking powder.
- Add milk and knead by hand to make a nice dough.
- Form your dough into round balls, flatten and create a hole in the middle using your finger.
- Heat your oil and fry a minute on each side. Then another two minutes while continuously flipping your donut. Fry until golden brown.
- Add powdered sugar or melted chocolate as a topping if you like.
These donuts freeze well and can be kept for up to a month. If you are freezing, I recommend you wrap them individually. They can be reheated in the microwave when you are ready to eat.
